2022 Toyota 4Runner Comes to Canada

The 2022 Toyota 4Runner lives up to its rugged image with its ability to excel off-road while still providing a smooth ride for highway drivers. Toyota upped the ante with the 2022 model, introducing a new TRD Sport model that has only been offered on its pickup counterpart, the Toyota Tacoma. A new Lime Rush paint colour was also added to the TRD Pro options to give the 4Runner some more flair.

The 2022 Toyota 4Runner is an extremely capable large SUV that offers true off-road performance to drivers. It is a body-on-frame SUV and is powered by a 4.0-litre V6 engine that delivers 270 horsepower. It can tow up to 2,267kg when properly equipped and can hold up to seven passengers.
Models and Pricing
The 2022 Toyota 4Runner recently had its price list released for Canadian models, and it includes several new features across the model lineup. In addition to TRD Sport model, the 4Runner adds LED headlamps on all trim levels and more safety features on the SR5, Trail, and TRD Off Road trim levels.
The 2022 Toyota 4Runners offers several models configured for both five and seven passengers. In five-passenger seating, the 4Runner is priced at $47,250 for the Trail trim; $54,670 for the TRD Off Road; $53,350 for the TRD Sport, and $62,250 for the TRD Pro. In seven-passenger seating, the 4Runner starts at $50,270 for the SR5 and $57,630 for the Limited.
Drivers that want the best value and capability should go with the TRD Off-Road model. With a middle-of-the-road price of $54,670, it offers a great set of standard features. It provides standard four-wheel drive and some TRD-specific styling both outside and inside. It also gets the off-road equipment to justify its name, including an electronically locking rear differential for maximum traction, as well as selectable drive modes that can alter the 4Runner's powertrain behaviour to accommodate specific driving scenarios.
Safety
In an area where other off-road-capable SUVs are lacking, the 2022 Toyota 4Runner comes through with a host of driver-assistance technology. Standard on every model is a blind-spot monitoring system, adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning and lane-keeping assist, and forward-collision warning and automated emergency braking.
Warranty
In addition to the safety features, Toyota offers another rarity in the class with its warranty and complimentary scheduled maintenance. The limited warranty covers three years or 36,000km while the powertrain warranty covers five years or 60,000km. However, it is the 2-years/25,000-km complimentary maintenance that goes above and beyond any of its competition.

The 2022 Toyota 4Runner prices in Canada did not change significantly from the previous model year, and nor did the 4Runner models.
