Spring Maintenance Tips for Your Vehicle

Flowers are blooming, the temperature is rising, and the gloom of winter is finally lifting. That means it’s time to get your vehicle ready for the spring. If you’re not sure how to go about that, make sure you read these spring maintenance tips to ensure you’re ready for warmer weather.

  1. Change out your winter tires. Higher temperatures mean you won’t have to worry about heavy snow fall on your daily commute, making it less likely you will need the grip that winter tires provide you. Bring your vehicle in to Hilltop Toyota so we can switch out your winter tires for all-season ones.
  2. Spring clean your car. Salty roads and the grime of winter can cause damage to your car’s exterior and undercarriage. Because of this, you should give your car a spring cleaning to get rid of any salt that can cause rusting, while clearing your cabin of any trash that might have accumulated in the colder months.
  3. Fill up your fluids. Your car can take a beating during the winter. Check all of your car’s important fluids to ensure it has everything it needs to work smoothly. This includes your oil, coolant, and windshield-wiper fluid.
  4. Get your brakes checked. You always want to stop when you need to, which is why getting your brakes checked regularly is important. Winter in particular can do a number on your braking system thanks to potholes and slick road conditions causing extra wear.
